Donald F. Coglianese ’57

Donald F. Coglianese ’57, a 46-year resident of Los Gatos, California, died there peacefully surrounded by family on March 9. Don’s strong scholastic and athletic record at Proviso (Illinois) High School earned him a full scholarship to Dartmouth, where he played football. At the end of his freshman year he returned to Illinois to marry Judy, his high school sweetheart. Judy supported Don while he completed his bachelor’s in chemistry at DePaul University in Chicago. Don was in at the beginning of the huge semiconductor field with applications in electricity of all kinds: communications, medicine, automotive manufacture, and the military. He worked for Welsh Scientific, Carl Herman Associates CHA, Airco Temescal, and the Silicon Valley Group SGV. In retirement he launched Rep One, where he continued to represent favorite clients. He loved sales, enjoyed travel, and took pride in mentoring and promoting his teams while maintaining lifelong friendships with many business associates. Don was predeceased by Judy, a love story that lasted 61 years. Their home was a gathering place where he and Judy made everyone feel at home. He was a hero to his two children, Patty and Danny, and their families, all of whom survive him.
