David Peter Miller ’55

David Peter Miller ’55 passed away in Durham, North Carolina, on December 24, 2017. A native of Poughkeepsie, New York, Dave came to Dartmouth from Hotchkiss School. He majored in English and philosophy. Dave was freshman class secretary and a member of German Club, Newman Club and Sigma Nu. He also participated in cross country and track. After serving five years as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, Dave graduated with an M.B.A. from Rutgers Graduate School of Public Accounting. He then received his certified public accountant license while working for Price Waterhouse. He joined the American Cyanamid Co. in Wayne, New Jersey, and held positions as manager of the budget and controller of Formica Corp. Dave’s alumni contributions included membership in the Bartlett Tower Society and Moosilauke Forum. He also volunteered as an admissions interviewer and career advisor and served as a regional club officer. Dave is survived by his wife, Betsey, daughter Susan and sons Charles and James.
