David Jennings Curtis ’67
David Jennings Curtis ’67 passed away on November 19, 2024, at Duke University’s Hoch Family Hospice. He came to the College from Boulder, Colorado, majored in English, and was active in Edgerton House and on the ski patrol. After graduation Dave earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1971 and completed a medical internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu in 1972 and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He served as vice chairman of the department of radiology and nuclear medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and later as a professor at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where he was head of general diagnostic radiology. In 1986 he became a fellow of the American College of Radiology. At the time of his retirement in 2000, Dave held the rank of colonel in the U.S. Army. Dave is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marguerite (“Ebie”); daughter Sally; son Andrew; and a large extended family. Dave’s faith was central to his being and his love for Ebie, his children, and his grandchildren were hallmarks of his life.
