David E. Bavlnka ’70

David E. Bavlnka ’70 passed away from cancer on June 9 in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. At Dartmouth Dave majored in government, was a member of Kappa Sigma, played rugby and freshman football, and wrestled. After earning a master’s urban affairs, he worked for the city of Milwaukee and was an enthusiastic member of the Milwaukee Rugby Football Club in the 1970s. Following sales stints at Schlitz, Stroh, and Heileman breweries, Dave moved to Sun Prairie, where he was vice president of marketing for the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. Later interests included golf, motorcycles, and photography. He is survived by his wife, Patti; sons Kevin, Tim, and Marc; one brother and five sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
