Charles Ralph Paul Jr. ’71

Charles Ralph Paul Jr. ’71 passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024. He is survived by siblings Mary Anne, Sarah, and John. “Jake” was preceded in death by parents Charles and Jane Paul and siblings Martha and William. Jake graduated from Geneva (Alabama) High School, where he excelled in athletics. He then earned a degree in history from Dartmouth and served for two years at the Naval Material Command Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Afterward, he earned his J.D. in 1976 from the University of Alabama Law School and a master’s in city and regional planning in 1980 from the Portland Graduate School of Urban Development. Following work in Portland, Oregon, and Palatka, Florida, Jake joined the Paul and Paul Law Firm in Geneva and later worked with the Gil Law Firm in Dothan, Alabama. Throughout his life, Jake valued the town of Geneva and its community connections, history, and people.
