Charles Harrison Warner ’55

Charles Harrison Warner ’55 of New York City died on May 22. He is survived by his wife, Julia, and children Anne, Chas, Christopher, Colin, Megan, Perry, Sean, and William. Charlie left Dartmouth after his freshman year and completed two years of military service. He then transferred to Columbia University to study broadcast journalism. Starting in TV ad sales, Charlie worked in Washington, D.C., Chicago, and New York, where he became vice president and general manager of WNBC. In 1983 Charlie shifted into multiple careers of teaching, broadcast and cable sales, and management consulting. He completed an M.A. in journalism at Southern Illinois University and was appointed professor at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. His textbook, Broadcast and Cable Selling, was adapted by more than 70 universities and media organizations.
