Carl Gregory Peterson Jr. ’52
Carl Gregory Peterson Jr. ’52, M.D., died on June 8. He was the husband of the late Cecil, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Greg was born in Calais, Maine, on October 25, 1930. Greg graduated from Dartmouth and Yale University School of Medicine and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, attaining the rank of major. After his discharge, he settled in Hampton, Connecticut, to raise his family. His stellar career as a prominent urologist positively impacted patients at Windham Hospital, where he opened his own urology practice. He served as chief of surgery and staff and pioneered various technological advancements in his field. He also practiced at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, Connecticut. He retired in 1988 to Green Hill, Rhode Island, and Naples, Florida. He enjoyed sailing with his wife and family on his sailboat X T Sea, playing tennis, and reading. He also enjoyed singing and was active in church choirs and choruses throughout his life. Most of all he enjoyed the company of his family. Greg is survived by children Greg, Cort, Xanthe, and Zinelle and their partners; stepchildren Mary, David, and Paula and their partners; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Dorothy.
