Bruce J. Senn ’68

Bruce J. Senn ’68 of Scotia, New York, died in November 2021 after a brief illness. Born in Niskayuna, New York, to Dr. John and Linda Senn, Bruce graduated from Scotia-Glenville High School, where he was active in athletics and school clubs. Bruce had a lifelong love of the outdoors, including skiing, hiking, and sailing—interests he pursued as a member of the Outing Club, Cabin & Trail, and Sailing Club. A religion major at Dartmouth, Bruce obtained an M.S.W. in social work (1976) and an M.B.A. (1980) from Syracuse Uiversity. He remained involved with Dartmouth as an alumni interviewer and regional club secretary and led the class 50th reunion hike up Mount Moosilauke. In 1972 Bruce married Irene Zukowski, with whom he had son John. Bruce shared his passion for skiing and sailing with his family. He spent summers at Galway Lake racing sailboats, ski raced, and attended World Cup soccer and Union College hockey games with John. A competitive downhill skier, Bruce also served as a ski instructor and adaptive ski instructor at Maple Ridge and Windham Mountain. Bruce worked most of his professional career as a computer systems analyst, including more than 25 years at Union College. He and his family attended Calvary Episcopal Church, where he served as treasurer. Predeceased by his father and Irene, Bruce is survived by his mother, son John, sister Barbara, and numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and loved ones.
