Barry M. Rubens ’55

Barry M. Rubens ’55 died January 14 in Santa Monica, California. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children Jon ’85, Beth, and David; and grandsons Ethan ’20 and Miles ’23. A native of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Barry majored in economics and was a member of Tau Epsilon Phi and The Dartmouth. After graduation he earned an M.B.A. from Tuck and served two years in the Army. Moving to Santa Monica in 1959, Barry became assistant vice president of American Savings and vice president for Great Western Savings. He then founded California Research Corp. and served as chairman of the California Savings & Loan League research committee. Barry was an active Alumni Fund agent from 1987 to 2018.
