Sisterhood

“No topic is off limits” for Lauren Balukjian ’06.

Through her Ivy League Sisters program, Balukjian encourages high-achieving women to get real about the pressures and pitfalls they face. “They feel pushed to be perfectionists, people pleasers, performers, and problem solvers,” says the life and leadership coach, whose organization helps women remove “the veil of perfection.” In November, Ivy League Sisters will host its fifth virtual summit. The free forums—for Ivy Leaguers only—have drawn more than 700 women at a time to tackle topics such as authenticity, imposter syndrome, and mental health. For a fee, the program offers smaller, more focused online groups intended to create a “safe space” where participants can drop their guards and share hardships and strategies for success. “From the bedroom to the boardroom, no topic is off limits,” says Balukjian, a history major and married mother of four.
