Drought expert to lead new research team.

“My world is uncertainty,” says assistant professor of geography Justin Mankin. Recently named co-leader of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Drought Task Force, Mankin hopes to partner with various investigators during the next three years to reduce the unpredictability of drought modeling. “We aim to provide the best science available to improve real-time drought prediction and monitoring,” says Mankin. His role, he adds, will make Dartmouth “a hub of drought research.”
