Arthur Kirk Walters Jr. ’59

Arthur Kirk Walters Jr. ’59 died on February 8, 2015. He entered Dartmouth from Newark (New Jersey) Academy and majored in Russian civilization. He was in NROTC and the Glee Club for all four years of college and was president of the Russian Club during his senior year. Kirk was commissioned following graduation and had a long career as a submariner in the Navy, retiring as a captain. One of his final assignments was as commanding officer of the Navy submarine base in San Diego. After retiring from the Navy, Kirk lived in the Fairfax, Virginia area.
