Arthur Judson II ’52

Arthur Judson II ’52 passed away at Paoli (Pennsylvania) Hospital on May 1 of pneumonia, brought on by the Covid-19 virus. He was born on September 6, 1930, in Philadelphia and raised in Wayne, Pennsylvania. Art graduated from Episcopal Academy in 1948 and then from Dartmouth with a degree in economics. He was a member of Theta Delta Chi and earned his letter in varsity soccer. Art served as an officer in the Navy during the Korean War. He then earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1956. His investment banking career spanned 60 years. He joined the family firm, C.C. Collings and Co., in 1957 and retired from Morgan Stanley in his early 80s. He also served a term as chairman of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. Art never forgot his Navy connections and was always involved in community and civic service. For many years he was a member and president of several Navy League organizations and he rose to vice commander-in-chief of the United States and chairman of the national board of trustees of the Military Order of World Wars. He served on the Episcopal Academy board of trustees and joined Rotary Club, serving as district governor of Rotary International and president of the Philadelphia Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bright, and children Arthur III, Virginia, Henrietta, and Christopher and their families, including 11 grandchildren.
