Allan James Creamer ’63

Allan James Creamer ’63 died peacefully at his home in Meredith, New Hampshire, surrounded by family on February 14, 2020. He was born in Waltham, Massachusetts, and grew up in nearby Belmont, where he attended high school. At Dartmouth Allan majored in Greek and Roman studies and was active on the Undergraduate Council and dorm committee for two years. He was a brother of Alpha Chi Rho, a member of the crew for four years, and varsity cox. Allan was an avid car fan and in the late 1960s restored a 1950 MG TD, a vehicle that at auction fetched the highest price paid to date for that model and year. The proceeds formed the down payment for the family home in Westwood, Massachusetts. Allan was a student of the classics and a fervent jazz fan of the post-Big Band era. He played a silver-keyed clarinet like his hero, Benny Goodman, and learned to play an alto sax given to him by his wife, Marilyn, on his birthday. She and two children survive.
