Alan Andrew Stakey ’54

Alan Andrew Stakey ’54 passed away in Lexington, Virginia, on July 13. Alan came to Dartmouth from Scarsdale (New York) High School, where he played basketball and was co-captain of the football team. At Dartmouth he was a member of Theta Delta Chi and Dragon. After graduating from Thayer School and earning a master’s from Syracuse University, Alan spent most of his working life in computer systems. His largest employers were IBM and Sperry Rand Corp., with some years as an independent consultant. His career carried him and his wife, Helen, a computer software specialist for A.C.
