William C. “Bud” Lang ’51

William C. “Bud” Lang ’51 died on March 12 in Providence, Rhode Island. He had lived for many years in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Bud was a lineman on Dartmouth’s football team. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi and Sphinx. As an alumnus he was an officer in Dartmouth’s regional alumni clubs. He served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea after graduation. Bud’s business career was in banking. He was an officer in several banks during his 40-year career, concluding his service as a senior vice president at Woonsocket Trust. He attended the Rutgers University Stonier Graduate School of Banking. A highlight of his and wife Bunny, who predeceased him, was spending summers at their cottage on the coast of Maine. He and his family enjoyed an ever-changing fleet of small boats there, as well as fishing, clamming, and playing golf. Other pleasures included grandfathering and volunteering in his home communities.
