Timothy Robert Dodd ’63

Timothy Robert Dodd ’63 died June 9, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was a member of the Dartmouth Glee Club and a music and sports broadcaster at WDCR radio. Tim earned a bachelor of law at Indiana University and practiced in Evansville with an emphasis on criminal law. He was admitted to the Indiana Supreme Court and was chair of the Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program (JLAP) committee. Tim was a founding member of the modern Evansville Bar Association (EBA), and an EBA and state JLAP leader who persuaded the Indiana Supreme Court to amend the Indiana rules for admission to the bar to include a surrogate attorney rule. Tim received the Doran Perdue Service Award and the James S. Stanton Award. He helped countless attorneys in practice of law and overcoming addictions. Tim was a member of the Evansville azalea committee and St. Mary Catholic Church. He played golf, gardened, rode motorcycles and read about the Civil War. He liked to travel and enjoyed sports. Tim is survived by Taya, his wife of 42 years, son Christopher, siblings Robert, Sarah and Kate and three grandchildren.
