Seigo Hayashi ’65

Seigo Hayashi ’65 passed away November 13, 2021, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born in the Gila Relocation Camp in Arizona and came to Dartmouth from South Los Angeles, where he was valedictorian and president of his high school class. Seigo left Dartmouth after freshman year to serve in the Army in Alaska. He completed his education with a bachelor’s and a master’s from UCLA, the latter in counseling. Seigo began a career in vocational rehabilitation and eventually founded Hayashi & Associates, which grew to include 12 offices across southern California. A respected entrepreneur, he also cofounded Asian Rehabilitation Services Inc., a nonprofit that provides social services to the public. He is survived by his former wife, Sachi; daughter Sandy and her husband, Alex; and grandson Everett. His daughter, Stacy, predeceased him.
