Robert M. Erving ’58

Robert M. Erving ’58 passed away June 27, 2022, in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Bob grew up in Mountain View, California, and was a Kappa Sigma and a ski patroller at Dartmouth. He left before graduating and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was an aide to an admiral on the aircraft carrier USS Hornet and experienced several tours in the Far East. Bob finished his undergraduate degree at Stanford University and later joined Wells Fargo Bank as a trainee in investment portfolio management. He found his calling when he launched his own highly successful investment advisory firm in the San Francisco area. As a hobby, he built a comprehensive library of books on military history, with a particular interest in American history. Bob is survived by his partner, Alexia, a daughter, a son, and two grandchildren.
