Class Note 1938
As I write this column you have received the initial mailing on the infamous 75th reunion for the amazing class of ’38—and, as you read this column, you have received a few more announcements. Please know that I know if you can be in Hanover you will—but, rest in the knowledge that you will be there in spirit and will not be forgotten.
Have had wonderful conversations with Adrian Weiss and his dear wife, Natalie. He sounds wonderful with the normal maladies to be expected. He is hoping to make it to Hanover, but, as with all, time will tell. He is hoping to see others and relive the good old days once more. His telephone number is (305) 667-2502 and would love to hear from you. He is living in Miami.
I have heard from the Class of 1938 Scholarship Fund recipients thanking the class.
Iris Yu ’14 writes, “This term, in addition to my classes, I am auditing a graduate course at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center by the medical school professor I am working for. Her work is involved in cancer biostatistics and epidemiology. I am a member of Dartmouth Cancer Scholars, which is a group that has the unique opportunity to hear lectures about all aspects of the cancer experience from the patient perspective to research and public policy. This spring and summer I plan to be in Munich, Germany, through a fantastic opportunity provided by the biology and German departments. I am so grateful for the alumni support that allows students such as myself to make the most of their college years.”
Andrew Zulker ’15 writes, “I am majoring in linguistics with a minor in Hebrew. I work as a drill instructor for first-year language students of Hebrew and French. Of course, the education that Dartmouth offers is more than academic! Learning about faith, relationships and cultures around the world is a part of everyday life for me. I am a soon-to-be traveler with the French language study abroad program to Toulouse, France. I am interested in some French universities’ graduate programs in applied linguistics for language teaching.
“You are giving my classmates and me opportunities, insights, relationships and experiences—you are changing lives and shaping the future. Thank you!”
Stay well and bless you all!
