Jeffrey K. Rosen ’63

Jeffrey K. Rosen ’63, a retired analyst and programmer at the University of Michigan Hospital Systems, died of cancer February 8, 2014. Jeff resided in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Jeff taught high school general science, was a partner in a lab animal quality control company and earned a Ph.D. in kidney physiology from Brown University. He also taught at the University of Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania and was assistant to the director of the amphibian facility in the zoology department at the University of Michigan. In 1978 Jeff began serving in the computer department at University of Michigan Hospital Systems in Ann Arbor as a business and systems analyst and programmer. “I loved every day I was there,” he said, “even the rough ones.” Jeff also served as regional secretary for the local Dartmouth club from 1985 to 1988. Jeff retired in 2005 and began volunteering at the Dispute Resolution Center in Ann Arbor and as driver at Meals on Wheels. He is survived by his wife, Huda, and daughters Salwa and Sulaima. Donations may be made to the Dispute Resolution Center and Packard Health Clinic in Ann Arbor.
