Harry Davis ’59, a professor of creative management at the University of Chicago, has earned the school’s Norman Maclean Faculty Award for more than 50 years of teaching and developing innovative educational programs.

Jack Herrick ’60, who played squash at Dartmouth, has been inducted into the U.S. Squash Hall of Fame. The Cleveland, Ohio, native was the president of U.S. Squash Racquets Association and the U.S. men’s team captain at the world championships four times in the 1980s. In 1983, at the 45s World Masters in New Zealand, he became the first American to win a world singles title.

Russell Granik ’69—who retired in 2006 after 30 years with the NBA, the last 22 as deputy commissioner—has been elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. He is now the vice chairman of Galatioto Sports Partners in New York City.

Rachel King ’81 has been named chairwoman of the Biotechnology Industry Organization, a Washington, D.C.-based international group representing more than 1,100 biotechnology companies, academic institutions and state biotechnology centers. King, who is the president and CEO of biotech firm GlycoMimetics, was also named the 2013 Executive of the Year by the Tech Council of Maryland.

Dawn Dekle, Adv’93, became the first female president of an Iraqi university when she was elected to lead the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani, in May. Dekle, who earned a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from Dartmouth and a J.D. from Stanford Law School, was most recently provost of the American University of Afghanistan.

Marine Corps Capt. Jon Kuniholm ’93 of Durham, North Carolina—who served from 1997 to 2006, when he was he was honorably discharged after being wounded in combat in Iraq and losing his right forearm—has been named to the National Council on Disability. Kuniholm is president and founder of the Open Prosthetics Project and the founder of StumpworX Inc., a prosthetic arm manufacturing company.

Tim Katz ’05, who works in the sports content partnerships group at Google/YouTube, has earned a Sports Emmy for “Outstanding New Approaches: Sports Event Coverage” as a producer of Red Bull Stratos Space Jump. The project was documented on a Red Bull website and through YouTube, with more than 8 million viewers tuned into the live jump in October 2012.
