Hi, 13s. Happy winter! It’s still autumn as I write this, and I’m also filing this column on my last day of employment at Dartmouth Alumni Magazine. I’ll soon be working in communications at Los Alamos National Laboratory, though of course will continue to be linked to the alumni magazine via this bimonthly task of writing our Class Notes.

In other news, Divyanka Sharma wrote in just after our last column deadline to share the following: “I’ll be starting my M.F.A. in fiction at the University of Oregon this fall! I was super fortunate to get a fully funded offer, which includes a full scholarship and a teaching stipend. After getting my M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business and then working at McKinsey and Google, it was time for me to get back to my creative roots and give novel writing a shot (also wrote one for my senior thesis in 2013!). I’d love to hear from other creatives in our class, so please feel free to say hi!”

Tom McQuillan is starting practice as a hand/shoulder orthopedic surgeon and assistant professor in Kansas City, Missouri. He would love to connect with any alums in the area to begrudgingly cheer for the Chiefs.

Playwright Laura Neill shared that her works are published with Stage Partners, YouthPLAYS, Applause, and (upcoming) Concord Theatricals. Most recently, Uproar Theatrics published Almost Tragic: Shakespeare’s Not-Dead Heroines, four one-act plays bundled into a comedic collection that asks what if the women of Shakespeare’s tragedies didn’t die? Wouldn’t all these women be ready for grander adventures? The collection can be perused on the Uproar Theatrics website. “I encourage teachers to reach out to me at laura.j.neill@gmail.com if interested in using these sequels to Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, Othello, and Hamlet in the classroom, since the scripts can be studied online for free,” says Laura.

Nick Valentini says: “My wife and I recently moved from Michigan to Rhode Island for a fellowship in emergency medical services (EMS) at Brown. I am splitting time between work in the emergency department and with various EMS agencies in Rhode Island. We are hoping to stay in the New England area long term. We also welcomed our beautiful daughter, Charlotte, at the end of September! Hoping to hear from any ’13s in the area.”

Christian Sherrill’s wife, Chelsea Hayman, gave birth to baby girl Georgia Elizabeth Sherrill in New York City on September 25. “A future Dartmouth grad?! Time will tell,” writes Christian. And Eva Petrow and John Burden ’11 welcomed baby boy Alexander this August.

Congratulations on the creative achievements, new jobs, and new babies!
