Alexander Lemon McPherson ’44

Alexander Lemon McPherson ’44 died on January 22. After graduating Dartmouth with a bachelor’s and a master’s in mechanical engineering, he served in the Navy. He then returned to St. Joseph, Missouri, where he managed the family farms. In 1967 he and his wife, Thelma, moved to Wheaton, Illinois, where he became vice president of the Clow Corp. In 1982 he retired and worked as a real estate agent. He remained active in community organizations and was a trustee of Midwest Research Institute. He was proud of the many patents he held in research and development. Two sons survive him. His wife of 58 years, Thelma, died in 2009.
