Richard H. Jackson ’58

Richard H. Jackson ’58 died on September 27, 2022. Nick was born in Detroit and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. At Dartmouth he was a history major and a member of Sigma Nu. In Nick’s words: “I graduated in June 1960 and two days later married Nancy in Hanover. Jack Gundy ’58 was my best man and Nancy’s brother, Abner Oakes ’56, was in the wedding party.” After several location changes, Nick and Nancy in 1968 moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where they remained. He worked in human resources management, eventually founding his own company. He was an avid golfer, calling it “going to the field of battle,” and was a great storyteller and student of history. Nick was active in community organizations, including United Way, Little League, Babe Ruth Baseball League, and the Episcopal Church. His wife Nancy, a daughter, two sons, and five grandchildren survive.
