Mark S. Horwich ’63

Mark S. Horwich ’63, M.D., died on January 20. He was born in Dover, Delaware and attended Denver East High School. At Dartmouth Mark majored in philosophy and went on to obtain a B.Med. in 1965. He was a brother of Tau Epsilon Phi and was active in swimming, diving, and gymnastics. After receiving his M.D. from Harvard in 1967, he interned in 1968 and performed his residency in 1969 at Duke University Hospital. Mark specialized in neurology and joined New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, where he was an associate professor of clinical neurology and attending neurologist at the New York Hospital. Mark’s last 10 years before retirement were spent in private neurology practice in New York City. He and his wife, Andrea, who survives him, retired to Boca Raton, Florida, where he was an avid golfer, sailor, and scuba diver. Their three children all graduated from Dartmouth.
