Michael Schrom ’73

Michael Schrom ’73 died on July 25 after a short illness. At the time of his death Michael resided with his family in the town of Guilderland, New York. He came to Dartmouth from Plainview, New York, on Long Island, where he attended Bethpage High School. At Dartmouth Michael lived in Brown Hall as a freshman and majored in biology. He was a disk jockey and a licensed engineer at WDCR. Phi Tau was his fraternity. Michael earned a doctorate in molecular biology at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He received his medical education at the University of Miami and completed his residency in otolaryngology at Albany Medical Center. Michael specialized in surgery on the ear at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York, and was a faculty member in the department of otolaryngology at Albany Medical College. He had a lifelong fascination with the Model A Ford and last year began restoring one. Michael is survived by his wife, Linda, son Robert and daughter Lauryn.
