Leslie Herbert Larsen Jr. ’59

Leslie Herbert Larsen Jr. ’59 died on May 13, 2015. He entered Dartmouth from Poly Prep in Brooklyn, New York, majored in economics and was a member of Alpha Theta and Navy ROTC. Following graduation Les served as a communications officer in the Navy, after which he joined Bankers Trust in New York City. In 1964 he began a 16-year relationship as a real estate advisor to David Rockefeller, participating in such projects as the Embarcadero Center in San Francisco and L’Enfant Plaza in Washington, D.C., and serving as a senior executive of Rockefeller Center Development Corp. He continued his commercial real estate career as an executive with several firms in the New York City area, eventually serving as managing director of Landauer Associates, following which he became a semi-active real estate broker. Les was an avid supporter of Dartmouth and served as an Alumni Fund agent and enrollment director for the New York City area alumni club. Carol, his wife of nearly 50 years, died about one year prior to his death. He leaves daughter Kari and two granddaughters.
