Jerome B. Wade ’73
Jerome B. Wade ’73 died on December 22, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a brief illness. Jerome came to Dartmouth from Lindblom College Prep High School in Chicago, where he was a National Merit finalist. He majored in chemistry, ran track and was a member of the Afro-American Society. Jerome also volunteered as a Tuck intern and as an A Better Chance (ABC) tutor. He married his classmate, Leslie Gibbons ’73, and entered Dartmouth Medical School, from which he graduated in 1977. After completing his residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, Jerome served in the U.S. Public Health Service in Roxbury, North Carolina, and in Louisville, Kentucky, before moving in 1983 to Tulsa, where he established his own practice. In 1988 he began a residency program in neurology at St. Louis University School of Medicine, and subsequently returned in 1993 to Tulsa, where he practiced neurology for 24 years. Jerome enjoyed jazz, woodworking, carpentry and gardening. He is survived by Leslie and their sons, Jerome Jr., Eric, Neil and Craig.
