Jay A. Clark ’58

Jay A. Clark ’58 passed away on August 22, 2020. At Dartmouth Jay was an English major, a brother at Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and a member of the Barbary Coast band. Beginning as an investigative reporter at the New York Daily News, Jay enjoyed a 45-year career in journalism and communications, including stints at Campbell Soup, Exxon, and Rockwell International. He received a presidential citation from Gerald Ford for promoting job growth in the private sector. He also won a Clio award for National Association of Broadcasters public-service advertising. Jay founded a PR consulting firm in San Francisco and was also a commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. In 2003 he and his wife retired to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where they founded a home-rental business. Jay is survived by his wife, Anne, two daughters, and four grandsons.
