With the mid-year months upon us, temperatures in this part of the world are quickly rising, summer vacations are in full swing and everyone’s kids are suffering from the doldrums of seasonal break.

Earl Plante has been appointed the new chief executive officer of San Francisco Pride (SF Pride). Earl joins SF Pride from the Latino Commission on AIDS in New York City, where he served as director of development.


If my calculations are correct you should be reading this right around the 20th anniversary of our graduation. It seems like a good time to focus on career updates!


I asked for updates on your leadership roles in charitable organizations, and was fortunate to hear from many classmates who are donating time and skills.

Following my December column, in which I highlighted recently published books from several authors in our class, Allison Lynn wrote in with information about her own upcoming book.

Greetings all from sunny Lima, Peru! I’m here attending a Sport for All conference hosted by the International Olympic Committee and the Peruvian Olympic Committee. It’s been fascinating, if a bit out of my union-organizing wheelhouse.

Class of ’89s are making lots of waves in Dartmouth Alumni Magazine these days, which seems just about right to me.

Happy summer! This is likely reaching you around the time of our reunion, but since I am writing in April (during a blizzard) the Hanover news will be in the next issue.

In early April Dartmouth hosted Greenways, a weekend to celebrate 40 years of coeducation at Dartmouth. More than 500 alumnae, alumni, faculty gathered in Hanover and participated in special events and discussions.
