Harry “Terry” Lowd III ’66

Harry “Terry” Lowd III ’66 of New Harbor, Maine, passed away on July 29. Terry came to Dartmouth from Salem (Massachusetts) High School and a postgraduate year at Philips Exeter, following in the footsteps of his namesake grandfather, a member of the class of 1912, and father, a member of the class of 1936. A resident of Butterfield freshman year, Terry joined Kappa Kappa Kappa and was a member of the Glee Club and the Winter Carnival Committee. Terry received his M.B.A. from Boston University and pursued a career in hospital management. Terry never stopped giving back to the class of 1966 for 50 years, serving on the class executive committee or handling one important role after another, including class president, newsletter editor, class agent, mini-reunion chair, and Alumni Council representative. Terry was a hospital administrator in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Virginia before settling Lincoln County on the Maine coast, where he had strong family roots. He owned a boat-building company for a while and worked on commission traveling to inspect and certify hospital operations. He was active in the Masons and town government, serving as the 2022 chair of the Bristol, Maine, budget committee. He is survived by son Harry IV and his wife, Jessica; daughter Kathalie and her husband, Christopher; three grandchildren; and brothers Robert ’68 and Harvey and their families.
