Eugene R. Lucier ’63
Eugene R. Lucier ’63, M.D., died August 2 at his home due to complications from Covid. He was born in Amesbury, Massachusetts, and attended Amesbury High School, where he participated in band and basketball. He majored in physics at Dartmouth and went on to receive a B.S. at Dartmouth Medical School followed by an M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. During the Vietnam War Gene served for two years at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital as an anesthesiologist. After years of private practice in Mankato, Minnesota, he settled in Winsted, Connecticut, and was an anesthesiologist and pain management specialist practicing in nearby Enfield. He filled in for many years at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Gene loved the outdoors and farm life working on his many farm vehicles. He and his wife had a small farm stand, Fern Hill Farms, selling fruits, vegetables, eggs, and maple syrup. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla, and his former wife as well as three children and three stepchildren.
