David S. Hall ’51

David S. Hall ’51 died on June 10. He had divided his time for many years between homes in Kennebunkport, Maine, and Intervale, New Hampshire, the home of the Hall family paint business. Dave came to Dartmouth from the Choate School. He majored in sociology and was a member of Kappa Sigma. Following graduation he served for two years in the U.S. Coast Guard. He spent many years in senior sales management positions with the Kyanize Paint Co., founded by his grandfather. His brother, Harry ’50, also worked in the business. Dave retired as the company’s president and treasurer. Dave’s great passion was the sea. He loved boating off the Maine coast and was a very active member of the Arundale Yacht Club as dockmaster in Kennebunkport. He also contributed his time and talents to the Kennebunk Beach Improvement Association. In earlier days he was an avid skier and enjoyed camping, whitewater rafting, and parasailing. He was predeceased by his wife, Sue, and two of their four children.
