John B. Trethaway ’47 of New London, New Hampshire, died on January 30. He was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Donald F. Page ’47 of East Greenbush, New York, died May 19 in Albany Memorial Hospital. Don was born and raised in Hanover, where his father, Frederick Page, class of 1913, was a professor.
Samuel B. Tassel ’47 of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, died January 26, 2016. He grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts, where he attended Lynn Classical High School.
Grant A. Tinker ’47 of Los Angeles died on November 28, 2016. He was born January 11, 1925, in Stamford, Connecticut, where he grew up and attended King School. He joined the class as a civilian in 1943.
Donald M. Armistead ’47 died December 14, 2016, in Seattle. He was born in Winchester, New Hampshire, and grew up in Haverill, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Haverill High School.
Gerard Joseph Slattery ’47 of Pompton Plains, New Jersey, died March 8, 2015. He was born March 15, 1925, grew up in Brooklyn and entered college in the Marine Corps V-12 program.
Lawrence H. Callahan ’47 died on July 16 in Vero Beach, Florida, where he grew up and attended Liberty High School. He joined the Navy and completed basic training before qualifying for officer training in the V-12 unit.
John L. Kelley ’47 died June 14 at home in Winchester, Massachusetts. He was born February 6, 1927, in Lewiston, Maine, where he grew up and graduated from Lewiston High School.
Jackson O. Welsh ’47 died in Topsfield, Massachusetts, on July 26. He was born December 4, 1924, in Mount Airy, Maryland, where he grew up and attended high school.
Walter I. Francis ’47 of Spartanburg, North Carolina, died May 13. He grew up in Hopedale, Massachusetts, where he attended General Draper High School. He qualified for the V-12 program and was assigned to Dartmouth.
