Class Note 2016. Ho ho ho, happy holidays, ’16s!
I’m writing this on a steamy August day shortly after our 10-year reunion! Yours truly wasn’t in attendance on account of backpacking the Presidential Traverse with Cindy Sun and Vivian Hu. I consider that first day of hiking to be the absolute hardest in my life. We were on trail from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., scrambling over sharp granite rocks that helpfully wobble underfoot and rip a hole in the seat of your pants. R.I.P. pants! I’d only just patched the rip from last year’s Alta Via 1 trip to the Dolomites. MVP of the trip was the 2.5-pound brick of homemade Icelandic rye and molasses bread (supremely sweet and soft, perfect with a squeeze packet of pistachio butter). We also had a delicious dim sum reunion with Katie Zhang and Vivian Chen.
Cecilia Lu and Kyle Colonna were married this summer in Villanova, Pennsylvania. The couple met in New York and, after finishing graduate school in Boston, are back in the New York metro area.
Ramtin Rahmani and his partner Jacob Dougherty got engaged in August at the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago. Congratulations!
One final note, this is my final Class Note! It has been a special joy to share all your Class Notes these past five years. Please welcome Regan Kirkby as our new class secretary—and keep those life updates coming.
