Class Note 1999. Happy spring, ’99s!
I hope you’re enjoying the longer days and warmer weather as the world comes to life again for many of us.
Michael Bruno led a group of students from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics to Japan earlier this year. Their travels took them to key sites, including the Imperial Gardens and Senso-Ji temple in Tokyo; the Golden Pavilion and Tenryu-Ji temple in Kyoto; and Mount Fuji. They also enjoyed Japanese food and theme parks, including DisneySea and Ghibli Park. Michael is an instructor and chair of the chemistry department at the school.
Amy (Stone) Altizer writes that she has made several visits to Hanover to see her ’26 daughter and ’29 son. She and Adrienne Wilson Wagner are co-leading the Dartmouth Club of Dallas, keeping the Dartmouth spirit strong in Texas.
Finally, Nicci (Renaldi) Heffer and her daughter spent New Year’s Eve day in Chicago with Jeff Fine. Jeff gave them a tour of the Chicago highlights, including selfies at the Bean, walking the “Magnificent Mile,” and drinking lattes at the Starbucks Roastery. They also ate deep-dish pizza but sadly didn’t have time for a Chicago hot dog. Nicci and her daughter did enjoy some of Jeff’s own famous baked goods.
That’s all the news for now—enjoy the spring!
