Class Note 2006. Happy New Year, ’06s.
In early September Paul Heintz, Adam Michaelson, Jonathan Hancock, and Jesse Blom completed the Adirondack Canoe Classic, a 90-mile, three-day canoe race from Old Forge to Saranac Lake, New York. The four-man team finished second in its race class!
Samantha (Lane) Gault was recently named executive director of The Mather Homestead in Darien, Connecticut. This beautifully preserved house and landmark offers a glimpse into American revolutionary history through rich and engaging programming, including literary conversations, lectures, and events. Samantha is excited for her new challenge—and the five-minute commute—and would love ’06s to stop in for a visit!
Victoria Allen is still living in Flagstaff, Arizona, and is working for the U.S. Forest Service. Victoria and her wife, Sara Olson, are foster parents to a 15-year-old and recently adopted a 3-year-old Lab mix that joins the family and their older dog, Fay.
Cayelan Carey was inducted into the Virginia Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine this fall for her contributions to protecting Virginia’s freshwater ecosystems and advancing drinking water management. Now in her 13th year as a scientist and a professor at Virginia Tech, she leads a research lab and center on freshwater forecasting and management.
Please continue to share your news and updates. Wishing you a wonderful start to the new year!
