Class Note 1971
Issue
January-February 2026
Class Note 1971. The annual CarniVail will be held February 26 - March 1 with a class dinner the first night at AlmResi Vail, Colorado. Contact Wayne Hobin at dreunion71@gmail.com for reservations. Wayne also reports that he is now living in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, full time. There is a small space available for rent in the house (unheated) for a large rental fee, all the while he is trying to sell his Lake Keowee, South Carolina, house. Any interest? Please watch www.3horizonpt.com for video. Meanwhile, the traditional Dartmouth Winter Carnival in Hanover is scheduled for February 5-8. Hope to see you there!
The big news for this issue is the extension of time set aside by the College for our 55th reunion in June, which was originally scheduled for a Monday, June 15, arrival to Wednesday, June 17, with dorm checkout that afternoon. But, thanks to our continued enthusiasm, the College has announced that we may extend our gathering through breakfast Thursday, June 18, with dorm checkout at 10 a.m. Needless to say, that gives us the opportunity not only to increase our reunion activities but also spend more time together, which is what it’s all about! It also enables those who live further from Hanover to make arrangements. The College has made the same offer to our neighboring class of ’66. It means that we can offer more programming and meals, of course, at a bit more expense, but the time makes it worth it. Please note, if you need to extend your lodging reservation the extra night, please do so now. Don’t wait, make your plans, talk it up with your pals, and watch for more detail and registration opening in early March,
I regret to inform our class of the passing of Peter Roitman on October 2, 2025, and Robert Reynolds Chase on October 20, 2025. Memorials will appear online in the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine. The “Age to Engage” is here. Go to dartmouth71.org and click on “Class Engagement” to see what’s up.
