Class Note 1950

Issue

September-October 2024

Veda and Joel Leavitt got Covid at a May wedding but recovered nicely. They are a-swim in grandkids, with five between them. Joel is still up for 18 holes of golf and some tennis too. Planning is underway on the October 4-5 mini (Penn game). Jilly Harned is still visiting Squam Lake and sending me pictures. Rachel was a fountain of information regarding our Jack Newkirk, who was a drummer in his high school group, the Top Hats. (I remember Jack sitting in on my drums at a class party.) Rachel and I reminisced about their surprise Dartmouth party for Jack’s 65th (45 years in practice) when they were living on Lake Wequaquet on the Cape. They had a sailboat and a pontoon boat on the lake. Rachel sent me an email correcting my use of “et ux” for “and wife” last column. They are dedicating the Joe Medlicott Memorial Library, second floor of 1 Court Street, to “our Joe” this September. Those planning to go should relay “not good” dates to Steve Toffel at (802) 649-2934 or (949) 375-3231 (cell) or Lisa King at (603) 646-0154 or lisa.l.king@dartmouth.edu. A note from “Toots” Medlicott regarding Elizabeth Kilmarx (deceased): They are naming a small stream and Grant Brook tributary in Lyme, New Hampshire, “Elizabeth Brook.”
