Alexander P. Robertson III ’91

Alexander P. Robertson III ’91, M.D., passed away on May 24 of brain cancer surrounded by his wife, Michelle, and family. Alex spent his childhood in Connecticut, where he was introduced to the medical field by his father. Alex shared his father’s passion for healthcare and chose to care for those in need. He attended high school at the Loomis Chaffee School and at Dartmouth played varsity lacrosse and squash, was a member of Chi Heorot, and graduated cum laude. He was most proud of his athletic competitions on the pong table as the Heorot reigning champ four years running. Alex earned his medical degree at the University of Virginia before completing his residency and trauma fellowship in orthopedic surgery at Brown University and becoming an accomplished orthopedic spine surgeon. He was a beloved and attentive doctor and took pride in trying to restore a better quality of life to his patients. Despite his medical success, he was most proud of Anna, Hope, and Katherine. A devoted father, Alex was always there for his girls, coaching them in sports and attending their events and games. He was also a loving son and brother who cherished family traditions such as the annual Robertson Thanksgiving soccer tournament and holidays at his family home atop a mountain in Dublin, New Hampshire. Alex fought with incredible bravery and humor to his last breath. He will be missed.
