Eric Valentine ’56

Eric Valentine ’56 died at his home in New York City on August 25, 2010, after a long battle with heart disease. His wife, Christine, reported that the 50th reunion had been such a good experience that they were eager to return to Hanover this June for our 55th. As he reported to us in our 50th reunion book, Eric served in the Army after graduation and then went into the newspaper business as a reporter. When his interest in that faded he turned his considerable ability to helping others get what they wanted to say in print. At first the focus was in the social sciences and then it became business. All of that led inexorably to founding and directing Projects for Publishers, and various authors have given their thanks for his support and encouragement, which enabled them to get published. That’s a legacy for which to be proud.
