W. Bradley Morehouse ’46

W. Bradley Morehouse ’46, son of H. Livingston Morehouse and Elisabeth Havens Morehouse, died at his Southport, Connecticut, home on December 4, 2021, surrounded by family. Bradley was a graduate of Northwood School in Lake Placid, New York, and matriculated at Dartmouth in the fall of 1942, leaving after one semester to join the Army and serve during World War II. For more than two years he was part of the U.S. Army Infantry 273rd Regiment, serving in the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, and Germany and earning the Expert and Combat Infantry badges and the Bronze Star. Bradley returned to Dartmouth after the war and graduated summa cum laude in 1948. On campus he was a member of the track team (and wore his letter sweater to his 75th reunion). He graduated from Yale Law School and helped found the successful general, corporate, and estate planning law office Morehouse, Harlow, and Weldy, where he worked well into his 90s. Bradley served as president of the Connecticut Audubon Society, director of the Fairfield Historical Society, president of the Dartmouth Club of Fairfield County, president of the Fairfield Bar Association, and trustee of the University of Bridgeport. An avid sportsman, he fished for trout from Patagonia to Labrador and from New Zealand to France. He is survived by his wife, Marian; children Susan, Christopher, and Rebecca; stepchildren Michael, Kate, and Richard; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by children Stephen, David, and Lorna.
