Ronald Mayer Stillman ’54

Ronald Mayer Stillman ’54 died on September 6, 2010, in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Ron entered Dartmouth from Shaker Heights (Ohio) High School, where he had been a successful debater and a member of the varsity tennis team. At Dartmouth he was an English major and a member of the Glee Club, the Russian Club and the French Club. He was a brother of Pi Lambda Phi. Following graduation Ron earned an M.B.A. at Columbia University and entered a career in finance. In 1957 he was reported working at the publishers of Gentry and American Fabrics. He then migrated into stock brokerage in New York City where he worked until retirement. He and his wife, Linda, raised three children, who gave them five grandchildren. After Linda’s death Ron married Catherine Kramer. He continued his interest in music, playing piano and attending concerts and opera. His family’s summers in the Berkshires gave the Stillmans access to a great variety of musical enjoyment.
