Roger Aaron ’64

Roger Aaron ’64 of Scarsdale, New York, died on February 11 of cancer. He came to Dartmouth from Shaker Heights (Ohio) High School, where he was class president his senior year, a member of the track team and attended Boys’ State. At Dartmouth Roger was a member of the track and cross-country teams, editor of the Aegis and a member of Pi Lambda Phi, Casque & Gauntlet and Green Key. He graduated in 1964, having majored in economics, and in 1965 from Tuck with an M.B.A. After Dartmouth he attended Yale Law School. Roger joined a small New York firm, Skadden, where he was an important force in guiding the firm to become one of the largest and most important in the world. He worked on some of the largest corporate mergers, including that of Exxon and Mobil. He was an outstanding supporter of his class and Dartmouth. He was the first post-graduation president of the class, a member of several fundraising committees, a member of the Rockefeller Center board of visitors and the president’s leadership council. Roger spread his philanthropic support by serving on the boards of the American Jewish Committee, the Legal Aid Society and Teach for America. Roger was a beloved husband and father. He shared his passions for skiing, golf and travel with his wife, Ginny, and their sons Peter ’92 and Todd ’96, who survive, along with grandsons Nate and Will. For more information, click here.
