They remained married for 61 years, until Diane’s death in 2017. In retirement Bob and Diane enjoyed playing bridge and Bob was an avid sailor and longtime sailboat owner, as he came from a long line of boat builders in the Ringstad family from Ringstad, Norway. He was always an active Dartmouth alum, contributing regularly to his alma mater, attending many class reunions, and involved in the organization of events, especially in New York City. He attended many Dartmouth football games through the years with friends and family. Bob is survived by sons Erik and Niel and two grandchildren.
