Robert B. Bresticker ’76

Robert B. Bresticker ’76 died of pancreatic cancer at his home on November 1, 2015. He was born January 15, 1955, in Pittsburgh and came to Dartmouth from Bethpage, New York. At Dartmouth he belonged to Phi Tau. Rob served in the U.S. Navy for eight years before being honorably discharged as a lieutenant, j.g., on the USS Eisenhower, the first nuclear aircraft carrier. He returned to Hanover to attend Tuck and earned an M.B.A. in 1982. Rob settled in Wheaton, Illinois, and subsequently worked at General Mills, Arthur Young & Co., Motorola, and 3Com. He earned his second master’s degree in manufacturing and engineering at Northwestern University. In 1992 Rob wrote and published American Manufacturing and Logistics in the Year 2001. After retiring for a short time, Rob founded Brigadoon Bay Asset Management and worked as an investment analyst. On St. Patrick’s Day in 1990 he married Patricia Lane Phalen in Peru, Illinois, and they eventually settled in Elburn, Illinois, in 2000. He was passionate about animal welfare, and enjoyed his dogs Beau, Radar and Darby. Rob was a member of the Lions Club of Geneva, Illinois, and a supporter of Tails Humane Society and Anderson Animal Shelter. He is survived by his wife, mother Claire, sister Miriam and brother Stuart. The class extends condolences to the family.
