Raymond Charles Snell Jr. ’44

Raymond Charles Snell Jr. ’44 passed away on May 5, 2009, in Frisco, Texas, of congestive heart failure. “Buzz” attended Rye (New York) Country Day School and graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth with a double major in business and engineering. Buzz joined the Navy and served in the Pacific theater during WW II as a lieutenant, j.g. In 1946 he started his career at Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, where he met and married his secretary, Mary. They were married for 53 years. After a short stint in southern California he spent his entire career in the Detroit area as financial manager, retiring in 1980. He then volunteered as a business consultant at the Baptist State Convention of Michigan until moving to Texas. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Frisco. His is survived by Mary, children John, Charles and Jennifer and six grandchildren.
