Ralph A. Sanders ’63
Ralph A. Sanders ’63 died at his home in Palmyra, New York, on March 24. He was born in Covington, Kentucky, on March 30, 1941. He attended McDowell High School in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he was class president for two years and vice president in his senior year. At Dartmouth he majored in geography and played baseball. After Dartmouth he continued his education at Penn State and received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. After serving two years in the Peace Corps in Nigeria, Ralph worked as professor of environmental science and department chair at SUNY on the Syracuse University campus for 24 years. After retirement he pursued his lifelong interest in history, science, and genealogy, which culminated in the publication of two family histories. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy, four children, and six grandchildren.
