Peter James Boolukos ’52

Peter James Boolukos ’52, M.D. passed away at home in Salisbury, Maryland, on July 4, three days short of his 90th birthday. The son of Greek immigrants, he was born on July 7, 1931, in Kingston, New York, and graduated from Kingston High School. Peter obtained his bachelor’s in premed in 1952 and earned a medical degree from the University of Basel (Switzerland) Medical School. While in the nearby town of Laufen, he met and married Marguerite. Peter then completed an internship and residency in pathology at hospitals in New York City and Stamford, Connecticut. He worked as a pathologist at Peninsula General Hospital (TidalHealth Peninsula General) in Salisbury for more than 25 years, where he formed many friendships. Peter enjoyed playing tennis and golf in Maryland and at his winter home in Venice, Florida. He was an avid traveler with his wife and visited numerous destinations, including Egypt, China, India, Peru, Russia, as well as extensively traveling throughout Europe with visits to family and friends in Switzerland. Pete loved classical music and would entertain guests with his violin playing. He is survived by Marguerite; children Peter, Michael, Diane, and Christa; and grandchildren Abigail, Michael, and Ian.
